    COMMITTEES & AMBASSADORS

    Oregon Horse Country operates with a number of Task Forces and Committees to oversee programing and events.  If you are a current OHC member, you are welcome to participate in any of the following groups:

    • Oregon Horse Directory.  This task force meets in fall to discuss the past OHD. They discuss issues that have arised with the design, categories, and distribution.  They also provide guidelines for the OHC Director to coordinate the book under.
    • NW EquiBiz Conference.  This committee meets throughout the year, less frequently in the winter and spring months, more frequent May-October.  This committee reviews presenter applications, discusses the schedule for the upcoming conference, tours venues and detemines location and layout, finalizes budget and registration fees, coordinates various aspects of the event, provides volunteer staffing at the conference.

     

    OHC is also in the process of forming Ambassador programs for each of our 5 regions across Oregon. 

    Districts:

    • Central Oregon
    • Mid-Willamette Valley
    • North Willamette Valley
    • Northeastern Oregon
    • Southern Oregon

    Description: District Ambassador Teams will be 3-7 OHC members from that region of Oregon.  They will meet on a quarterly basis (more if needed) to focus on the following tasks in their district.

    • Member Recruitment:
      • Give presentations to groups and meetings about OHC as needed
      • Provide OHC Director membership leads
      • Do site visits to barns, events, etc.
      • Attend equestrian events to hand out brochures and meet potential members
      • OHC Booths:
        • Staff booths
        • Set-up and tear-down booths as needed
        • Event Coordination:
          • Organize area quarterly networking/social events
            • Find host locations
            • Promote in the district through word of mouth, flyers, Facebook posts, emails, etc.
    • Organize area quarterly education/information events
      • Find host locations
      • Find speakers and prepare for the speaker
      • Promote in the district through word of mouth, flyers, Facebook posts, emails, etc.
    • Promote state OHC events (i.e. Annual Conference, Fundraisers, etc.)
    • Administrative:
      • Report information back to OHC Director regularly
      • Continually research partnerships, marketing opportunities, funding, etc.
      • Provide articles, announcements, and information for web and email News
